JURY STATEMENT:
From the first touch, this base layer set felt special. All the women on the jury, covering a wide range of body types, said the same thing: this base layer was perfect to put on and fit comfortably in all the right places. That‘s impressive. The hood provides good visibility and warmth where needed, and it looks good when pushed back. The waffle construction allows for year-round use, meaning a lightweight, windproof cover is all that‘s needed in summer, but keeps you impressively warm on cold winter days. Finally, sustainable manufacturing means your heart is as warm as your arms, legs and head! A very worthy winner of the overall award.
Devold® Tuvegga Sport Air is a reversible base layer in Merino wool. The base layer is developed for high intensity activities where the need for insulation and the ability to regulate body temperature is important. The flat surface offers efficient moisture transportation and high breathability when worn next to skin. If more insulation is required, the garments can turn and a 3D fabric construction with air channel knit will generate additional insulation. To further enhance the ability to regulate body temperature and provide extra insulation, we have strategically placed Wool Mesh . An elastic insulating rib knit, lightweight and soft, has been incorporated to absorb moisture and keep you dry during activity. For increased comfort the base layer has a wide Merino wool waistband, providing a comfortable fit and optimal shape. This all-in-one garment eliminates the need for extra clothing, reducing weight for demanding trips.

We work with carefully selected farmers who take good care of both the animals and the soil.
All Devold clothing is traceable, with over 60 % being traceable all the way down to the farm where the wool came from. Our garments carry the name of the farm that produced the wool. Since its start, Devold has been the owner of its own factory. A few years ago we bought, own and run a new, Oeko-Tex -certified factory specially adapted to Devold‘s products and high-quality wool. We located the factory in Europe. Here 304 people are engaged in the many different stages of production and quality control of merino wool. Laboratory testing is performed of such characteristics as strength and fineness, whereby the wool is stretched, x-rayed, and scrutinised in multiple procedures. We also co-own an environmentally certified dye (C2C, European Eco Label, Nordic Eco Label, Oeko-Tex), which ensures that Devold wool is free of hazardous dyes. All chemicals used in our products and packaging meet the requirements of REACH, the EU’s Chemicals Regulation. Wool is a natural fiber. Our clothes are designed in Norway and produced at our own factory in Lithuania. Devold wool will be gentle on nature while in use , because of wool’s natural , antibacterial and self-cleaning properties, it’ll make for much less laundry than other clothing.

The Devold brand dates back to 1853When Ellsworth made his first flight across the South Pole areas in 1933, he, in a very nice letter, thanked Devold for the warm woollen clothing it had provided to them for the trip.„I wish to express to you my appreciation of the excellent service you have rendered in furnishing supplies and equipment for my Expedition and to thank you for your generous consideration in connection with the charges for your products. We have found them to be of the very best quality.“Lincoln Ellsworth (letter to O. A. Devold Sonner A/S)
