Norrøna’s Falketind Aero60 Hood is THE multipurpose it-piece! Besides the minimal weight: The jury likes the skin comfort, a good balance of breathability and heat retention. Additionally: At this point in time, it’s the best mix of durability and sustainability bundled up in an incredibly lightweight 130g windshell.
With this hooded jacket she is outdoors all set with a shell that works in many weather conditions. In combination with her 1st/2nd layer favorite, Falketind Aero60 Hood is a truly reliable 365 days companion.
Due to the silhouette, the well shaped hood and the perfect fit, the jacket covers many activities. To the wider audience products like this are usually completely underestimated, that will hopefully now change.
Our most breathable and lightweight wind jacket with water shedding properties.
This packable wind jacket is made for lightweight mountaineering but works excellent for other mid to high-intensity activities ranging from trail running to ski touring. We use our aero60 windshield fabric because it offers a sweet spot between breathability and windproofness as well as durability and lightweight.
The lightweight recycled ripstop nylon has a slightly open weave construction and an air permeability of around 60 Mbar/l/m²/s for good moisture vapor transportation during aerobic activities.
Main features include an adjustable hood which can be neatly folded when not in use, mesh under the arms for extra ventilation, a chest pocket with a mobile pocket that can room the jacket packed down, elastic hem, elastic cuffs, and a special front button to keep the jacket semi-closed and put while having the front zipper all open. It has a slim fit with articulated arms for good mobility.
For this style we have a deep chest pocket, positioned so that small items can sit below the bust rather than right on top, which can be very comfortable for many women.

"We know there are FUN FACTS and / or a BACKSTORY! Please share!"
The most fun part of designing this piece was figuring out how to make the chest snap function tuck away into the pocket when not in use, for a super clean and tidy aesthetic. There aren’t images on our website, but we have a small webbing snap feature at the chest behind the front zipper; this is to keep the jacket from flapping about in the wind when you need maximum venting. But we didn‘t want the feature to get in the way when not in use, so we designed it so that you can pull it through to tuck away in the chest pocket.
