"Tell us more about your COMPANY / PRODUCT SUSTAINABILITY... "
Company Sustainability approach: (Strategy, Policy, Code of Conduct, Reporting...) Bergans aims for producing solid and durable high-quality products with a long product lifetime, and thus reducing their environmental impact. The circular economy approach includes several consumers faced services like Rental, Repair, product Return and Re-sales as well as a Redesign program – all named “Long live the Product”. The basis for developing responsible products is by using more sustainable materials like recycled fibers, more sustainable production and dyeing techniques as well as bluesign® approved materials. Bergans’ sustainability strategy “Expedition 2030” also covers supply chain improvements, where Bergans operates with a Code of Conduct as the basis for responsible business relations. Bergans is a member of Ethical Trade Norway, including annual reporting on our work with ethical trade, on social and environmental factors. Bergans is part of the Scandinavian Textile Initiative on Climate Action (STICA) and has committed to map, report and reduce climate emissions throughout the textile supply chain. Our aim is always to develop high quality products that last longer. We know from LCA studies that prolonging a product‘s lifetime is the biggest benefit on a product‘s environmental impact. Therefore we aim for using solid materials that fit perfectly to the intended purpose, meeting the users demand and thus being used longer. Several circular services support this concept: „Long live the product“. The Fløyen pants use bluesign approved materials and trimmings, and the main fabric consists of partly recycled material.
"We know there are FUN FACTS and / or a BACKSTORY! Please share!"
There was a lot of mistrust to the Fløyen pant from start because it was everything else than a traditional hiking pant. Who would like such a tight pant as this?! Quite quickly we saw that the interest and demand for this pant increased drastically among our female customers. The perfect comfort and how it makes you feel strong and capable, ready to hit the trail.
