Devolds EXPEDITION ARCTIC PRO is a multifunctional baselayer shirt that convinces with good body mapping and features like sleeves with thumb holes, a warming collar, and a hood - made from 100% fair merino wool, which is biodegradable without pollutants or microplastic.
EXPEDITION ARCTIC PRO BASE LAYER: In search of the optimal wool baselayer for explorers in extreme harsh and cold environments, we have played with three different wool qualities: Wool terry, wool-silk and wool-mesh, in combination. By combining three different knitting technologies, we are able to use the different benefits in each of the three wool structures. Our new Devold baselayer EXPEDITION ARCTRIC PRO is made of a blend of 100% merino wool and silk. It has been developed and tested in collaboration with Norwegian explorer Børge Ousland, with a focus on optimal insulation in a harsh and extremely cold climate. As we find many brave female explorers, this garment is specialized and optimized also for women -who in fact are even more sensitive to cold -and need proper insulation and ventilation, especially in extreme winter temperatures. The base-layer is body-mapped and combines three different material qualities. In torso area, the top is reinforced with a soft and roomy 235 g/m2 wool-terry quality. This structured grid area insulates the chest & heart area and gives maximum heat storage. The main fabric is a two-layer knit structure containing 10% silk, with an aquaduct effect. The quality transports the excess moist away from the body to the outside of the fabric. The last quality is the wool mesh, which provides maximum ventilation under arms and at the lower back. It also protects against chilling - as accumulated moisture in extreme cold can be crucial.
As we find many brave female explorers, this garment is specialized and optimized for women -who in fact are even more sensitive to cold -and need proper insulation and ventilation, especially in extreme winter temperatures.

"Tell us more about your COMPANY / PRODUCT SUSTAINABILITY... "
Our production is like an open book: each garment has its own story that you can trace all the way back to the sheep that produced the wool. We take you on a journey from sheep grazing on large swathes of land to our own Oeko-Tex-certified factory in Europe, where our garments are knitted by the happy people working for us. The next chapter will take you to the Sunnmøre Alps and the region’s harsh weather conditions: this is where we test our garments to ensure that they are of such a high quality that they can keep you warm on all your adventures, regardless of the weather. Our continuing story is going to be one that you write – Devold’s clothes won’t only keep you warm, but you’ll also be able to wear them in good conscience. This garment is made from only natural fibers: it is made from 100% merino wool and 10% silk. The product is biodegradable.
